Well we find ourselves together once more internet friends. Sorry about the big delay on posts lately but the job that pays me has recently required my attention. Not to worry though we should be back on schedule this week, so without further ado it is my great pleasure to present the second part of our journey through the saga of the Metal Gear franchise. This time on the In Depth we dive into MGS 2: Sons of Liberty. There is a lot of passion in our group for this entry and boy does it show. Once again I would like to thank our co-host Chris for taking the time to shoot the shit and guide us through his maiden voyages. Strap in folks, this is a long one.

MMG In Depth with: Metal Gear Solid

MGS

Why hello there internet friends! We have a very special show for you today as we go In Depth with a much beloved  franchise, Metal Gear Solid. Joining the regular crew on this particular sneaking mission is Metal Gear virgin Chris. Chris is   an old friend to us at MMG and is really the reason this project got started. You see Chris is super hyped for MGS 5, and  decided to go play through the series for the first time to prepare his fragile mind. Me being me saw a great opportunity to exploit his kind nature for my own selfish need; thus he joins MMG to recount his impressions on the series as he sneaks,    CQC’s, and Tranqs his way to cowboy Russians, not-so-twin brothers, and Cyborg Ninja duels using the ancient battle doctrine of only fighting in the four cardinal directions. So please friends pull up a comfy seat and prepare to dive deep into the world of jargon that is Metal Gear Solid.

What’s in the Bag!?: Issue 4

Excelsior or some shit. God knows Reggie doesn’t care about  intros or the fact we go over podcast favorites Mortal     Kombat X and Nailbiter. He is too busy blocking his doors with old Death of Superman trades so that the IRS cant come and take his bagging money, that he doesn’t notice our Birthright, Punisher, Squirrel Girl, and Wytches coverage. Maybe you’re not like Reggie, god I hope you’re not, maybe you are psyched to listen to us ramble about a child’s hobby. If so, welcome home friends.

MMG Gamecast 6: Gittin to da rad bidness

life-is-strange

Well if you stuck around after that horrendous title I welcome you to the Gamecast. We spend the majority of the time talking about how rad Life is Strange could be if it just stopped bumming us out with its hella bad lexicon. We also go over some badass rougelike/towerdefense/ohshitohshitohshit and grown man tears simulator. So strap yo’ selfzes in da hoopdie for the phat-cast.

MMG In Depth with: The Vanishing of Ethan Carter

ethan carter 2

Welcome to the very first In Depth segment here on My Mom’s Garage. Occasionally the planets will align and both Joe and I end up playing the same game. If we find we both have a passion for it, we will do a Gamecast solely dedicated to delving into all the aspects of that particular game. For our first installment we have The Vanishing of Ethan Carter . Vanishing manages to pull of being both dark and majestic; foreboding all the while begging to have its exquisite countryside explored. It’s a haunting journey that I hope you join us on. Also a special mention goes to the OST, which I have used for our intro and outro song. It encompasses the dark and quiet beauty the game evokes.

MMG What’s in the Bag !? Special: Nailbiter Fancast

nb

Today we are going to bring you something special folks. Since Joe had a slow week we decided to go over a comic that is very special to My Mom’s Garage, Nailbiter. We go over the Mysteries of good ole Buckaroo,Oregon  and its insane inhabitants. Heads up we go very spoiler heavy in this one, so make sure your caught up on Nailbiter before you tune in. Also feel free to leave your own theory in the comments below.

MMG Gamecast 5: Alien vs. Boulder’s Bane

rer

Thanks for joining us once again internet land. Tonight we got a nice and spooky two hour long Gamecast covering Resident Evil Remastered and Alien Isolation. For once Joe and I are equally happy with our selections and talk at length about the woes of not having a blockbuster account. Warning! there are major story spoilers for Isolation, so listen to the second half at your own risk.

Cromartie High School

cro high

Hello internet. Bet you are wondering where the Watch Along for Cromartie High School episode 1 is. We actually recorded it, I swear. But honestly when I went back to edit it all that was on there was 11 minutes of Joe and I laughing. Deciding to spare you that particular hell I’m going to just give you a small breakdown on the show itself.   Cromartie started airing back in 2003 and parodied the yankii( Juvenal delinquent) genre.  Focusing on absurdest humor and parody the show covers everything from Queen to Initial D. With an art style similar to Crying Freeman, its biggest comedic strength is the dry delivery set against the insanity happening on-screen. In a world where Robots, Freddy Mercury, and Aliens coexist side by side in one school, I guarantee you will find at least one episode that causes you to cry from laughing to hard. Also a small side-note, the English dub is fantastic, with each actor nailing the specific crazy that makes Cromartie High go round. So please do feel free to join us in watching and be sure to check back next Friday for our final review.
